      • Mandarin can be a start point to access to other East Asian languages, such as Japanese and Korean, due to shared characters and cultural influences. 
      • China is one of the world's largest economies and is a key player in international business and trade. Many multinational corporations do business with or in China. Proficiency in Mandarin can open job opportunities in various industries, including finance, manufacturing, technology, and international business. 
      • China is a diverse and culturally rich country with a wide range of attractions, from the Great Wall to bustling metropolises. Knowing Mandarin can greatly enhance your travel experience by enabling you to communicate with locals, read signs, and navigate transportation. 
      • It is the most spoken language in the world, with over a billion native speakers. It is the official language not only in China but also in Taiwan and Singapore. 

Need to know:

    • You need to be 18+ years old to apply
    • We use a course book as main guidance for our classes. The course book varies according to the level. Check what you need on the Course Books page.
    • We issue a certificate of attendance upon request.
    • In case a class needs to be cancelled the recovery class will happen on a Friday of the same term, usually on the same week as the cancelled class.

Beginner

What will I achieve?

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the initials and finals
  • Identify the tones (four tones + neutral tone)
  • Understand the rules of Pinyin 
  • Introduce yourself and others (name, age, nationality, residency)
